As O‘ahu braces for this recent cold weather front, ‘Iolani students brace for the prospect of Quarter 3 mid-quarter reports. Many students feel the stress of upcoming tests, quizzes, and essays at this point in the quarter and school year as a whole. The ‘Iolani Peace Institute, Education Club, and the Students for Peace are bringing the award winning documentary “Race to Nowhere” to campus to shine a light on this important aspect of many student’s educational experience.
Mr. Peter Greenhill, a club advisor involved in bringing the film to ‘Iolani, said, “I hope this film will convey to ‘Iolani students and adults that it’s worthwhile to take a good look at how much stress our students live with … and [find] ways to reduce that stress without lowering education standards.”
The movie will be shown tomorrow, 2/21, in the Sullivan 4th Floor Project Space, and is sure to spark lively debate amongst students and faculty alike. Imua invites you to attend the screening and stay tuned for continued coverage of this important topic.
